Mnazi Mmoja Hospital Garden

Mnazi Mmoja Hospital Garden

A historic space revitalized for the community. Infinity Foundation transformed the Mnazi Mmoja Hospital Garden into a serene, welcoming environment, providing patients and visitors with a peaceful space for relaxation. This initiative was fully donated as part of our commitment to improving public areas that serve the community. The garden not only enhances the hospital’s surroundings but also reflects our dedication to preserving and uplifting essential spaces in Zanzibar.

A Green Oasis in Zanzibar

Mnazi Mmoja Garden is a beautifully restored public space in the heart of Zanzibar, offering a peaceful retreat for locals and visitors. Covering 6,270 square meters, this lush green space has been revitalized to provide a serene environment for relaxation, social gatherings, and community events.

A Project for the People

Located opposite Mnazi Mmoja Hospital, the garden was developed to serve as a sanctuary for patients, their families, and the general public. The project, which cost over $450,000, was completed in just nine months, demonstrating a commitment to efficient and impactful urban revitalization.

“According to UNESCO heritage laws, cities must be attractive and well-maintained. This project not only beautifies the area for those visiting patients but also strategically enhances tourism.”

Ali Said Bakar, The Director General of the Stone Town Conservation and Development Authority

Community Impact & Cultural Significance

Mnazi Mmoja Garden is more than just a public park; it is a symbol of cultural preservation and community well-being. Since its inauguration, the space has become a hub for social interaction, recreational activities, and cultural events, strengthening the social fabric of Zanzibar.

This project reflects a balanced approach to development, ensuring that Zanzibar’s historical charm is preserved while enhancing the quality of urban life. The restoration of Mnazi Mmoja Garden serves as a model for future green space initiatives, demonstrating the importance of integrating nature into urban settings.
